One hundred years ago, the guns fell silent. Join us as we mark the 1918 Armistice with poetry, music, refreshments, and a craft activity for families. A European Studies at KU program held in partnership with the Watkins Museum. This event is part of the KU World War I Centennial Commemoration.

This event is hosted by the Watkins Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.  It will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m Sunday afternoon, November 11.

Blair Tarr is the Museum Curator of the Kansas State Historical Society. He oversees the three-dimensional collections of the Society, but has special interests in the Civil War, Wichita-made Valentine diners, and Leavenworth's Abernathy Furniture. In the last few years he has also done a lot of cramming on The Great War. He is a past president of the Kansas Museums Association and the Civil War Round Tables of both Kansas City and Eastern Kansas. He is currently a board member of the Heritage League of Greater Kansas City.
