World War I Aerodrome. Includes a communications bunker, a Jenny 4 aircraft, and a German Taube airplane. The German Taube, because of its color scheme, was virtually invisible to combatants looking up at a clear sunny sky. As a result, pilots were able to fly over the enemy, gather information and then relay that data to generals on the front line.

The University of Kansas Center for Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies (CREES) has been a national leader for the study of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe since 1959. The center is an active member of the KU WWI Centennial Commemoration coordinated by the European Studies Program.
