Combat Air Museum, 7016 SE Forbes Avenue, Forbes Field, Topeka
3 exhibitions on view through 2018:
World War I Aerodrome. Includes a communications bunker, a Jenny 4 aircraft, and a German Taube airplane. The German Taube, because of its color scheme, was virtually invisible to combatants looking up at a clear sunny sky. As a result, pilots were able to fly over the enemy, gather information and then relay that data to generals on the front line.
